The Aircast Knee Cryo/Cuff combines the therapeutic benefits of controlled cold compression to minimise haemarthrosis and swelling and reduce pain.
After a twist, turn, arthroscopy, minor or major surgery the Aircast Cryo Cuff for the knee is the ideal rehabillitation tool. The cuff is anatomically designed to completely fit the knee providing maxium coverage of the whole joint and allowing the whole surface area to have the continual cooling benefit of cryotherapy.
After an injury blood vessels are damaged and this allows blood cells and fluid to seep into spaces around the joint, resulting in swelling and bruising. When ice is applied the temperature decreases and constricts local blood vessels, slowing metabolism and decreasing fluid build-up. Ice can also numb nerve endings, reducing the transfer of impulses to the brain that register as pain. The Cryo/Cuff System reduces the need for multiple ice packs in the freezer and is great for medium to long term use.
The cuff needs attaching to the Aircast Cryo Cuff Cooler (Not included with this item – Set of cuff and cooler can be bought here) and will hold water and ice needed for six to eight hours of cryotherapy. The durable cooler comes with a tube assembly and insulation disk and simple-to-follow directions for use.
Please note that this item cannot be returned for a refund once used with water. Per check size of the cuff before filling with water.
