What is the McDavid 425 Ligament Knee Support?

The McDavid 425 Ligament Knee Support has a padded buttress with open patella to keep the knee cap in a central position when bending the knee. This will also relieve any tendonitis around the knee cap that will often be caused by Ligament damage. The McDavid 425 Ligament Knee Support has two steel spring slays on the inside (medial) and outside (lateral) of the brace to reduce rotational movement of the knee joint. The McDavid 425 Ligament Knee Support is designed to reduce the pressure on to the ligaments when bending the knee and aids rehabilitation.

The McDavid 425 Ligament Knee Brace is made from 5mm, latex free neoprene fabric.

When can I use the McDavid 425 Ligament Knee Brace?

The McDavid 425 Ligament Knee Support is a very popular support for those with patella tracking and kneecap issues, due to the soft buttress that sits around the knee cap. It keeps it in the correct place, and prevents from any movement in the kneecap. Due to the pressure it provides to this area, those with tendonitis would feel relief with this knee sleeve, as it places pressure on the problem area.

Those who suffer from arthritis in the knee, would also benefit from the McDavid 425 Ligament Knee Brace, as it provides a great deal of compression and warmth, due to the neoprene material it is made from. Warmth efficiently prevents the knee joint from seizing up, and keeps the blood flowing. The compression the 425 brace provides, also reduces swelling and prevents it getting any larger, and swelling up more.

Also the McDavid 425 Ligament Knee Support would help people with minor ligament damage to the ACL and PCL, due to the four elastic crossing straps that mimic the cruciate ligaments, to help reduce the workload of the weak knee joint. They pull across the top and bottom of the kneecap, and provide a small amount of restriction when bending, stretching in a very similar way the ligaments would. There are also two further Velcro straps on the thigh and calf to hold the support in place, and stop the product from falling down or slipping.

McDavid 425s are great. Fantastic level of support with good movement. I have had surgery on both knees and thought my life in martial arts was over, but thanks to these supports I am back to it!
