What is the McDavid 601 Jumpy Knee Pad?

The McDavid 601 Jumpy Knee Pad is a simple support, which protects the patella from impact. It is designed for indoor sports such as volleyball, basketball and indoor football, but it can also be used by rockclimbers, or construction workers looking to protect the knee from impact or abrasion.

The thick foam on the McDavid 601 Jumpy Knee Pad, covers the entire patella and surrounding area of the knee. It provides a layer of protection over the knee for any sudden impact. The foam is lightweight and conforming to provide optimum comfort and protection. The sleeve is constructed from knitted neoprene to comfortably encase the knee while also offering warmth and compression to the area.

When can I use the McDavid 601 Jumpy Knee Pad?

The McDavid 601 Jumpy Knee Pad is perfect for those who often fall or use their knees during sport or their day to day activities. It is often very popular with people who fit carpets, as knee knees are an essential part of the working day. However in a sporting environment, they are often quite popular with goalkeepers, indoor or outdoor, as there can be an immense amount of shock and pressure running through the knee when falling down onto the knees and legs.

Due to the design of the McDavid 601 it also provides a high level of compression and warmth, which is very beneficial for sufferers of arthritis. Those who experience patella tracking problems, may benefit from this product, as the large foam support would offer a high level of protection to stop it moving around.

Funnily enough I'm a builder and needed something soft to wear as my knees are starting to weaken, don't use it for sport but work great for work

  • Pros - Comfortable and easy to wear
  • Cons - padding is very thick so can restrict a bit

I'm a goalkeeper and my uni has a astroturf pitch so my knees were always getting cut and carpet burnt on the surface. I bought these to stop this and they have really worked the trick, and makes it very comfortable to fall onto my knees, which has improved my ground skill
